Biography
Gregory Scofield is a Métis poet and playwright of Cree, Jewish, and European descent. In addition to writing and teaching, he has done outreach work with youth in Vancouver. He was born in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, and was raised by his family and in foster homes in northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and the Yukon. His experiences with poverty, abuse, and racism are chronicled in his autobiography, Thunder Through My Veins.
